The 2018 Roland Garros was full of exciting matches, even though the weather played spoiled sport to some.
There were some encouraging performances from our Asian Tennis players at the Roland Garros.
In the men singles, Kei Nishikori from Japan showed some great on-court skills and lost to Dominic Thiem in the Round of 16 in an intense 5-set thriller.
In the women singles, Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan battled it out till the quarterfinals where she was defeated by Madison Keys.
The doubles categories were where the Asian players took command, in the men's category - Rohan Bopanna, from India, teamed along with Édouard Roger-Vasselin bowed out at the quarter-final round, losing out to Alexander Peya and Nikola Mektic.
In the women's category, Japenese pair - Makoto Ninomiya and Eri Hozumi displayed great grit, technical ability and showcased perfect teamwork only to be defeated by Czech Republic pair Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova in the final.
