Yoshihito Nishioka surprisingly ousted Bristish hope by defeating 30th seed Daniel Evans in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-4, leaving him baffled by the prowess of the Japanese.
The 24year old Nishioka will meet 16 time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic in the 3rd round of the Australian Open 2020. The duel had met at the 2019 Davis Cup where Serb had won quite easily.
“He (Nishioka) is very quick, probably one of the quickest on tour.” Said Djokovic.
“I’m playing all the Japanese players in the field,” Djokovic laughed on court.
