Chinese Taipei and China Emerge Victorious in ATF 12&U Regional Qualifying Event (East Asia)
The ATF 12&U Team Competition Regional Qualifying (East Asia), supported by KTF and held in Andong, Korea, concluded on July 12 with Chinese Taipei emerging champion in the boys event while the girls title was annexed by China.
The top three teams in each category secured their spots in the ATF 12&U Finals after five days of intense and thrilling matches from July 8-12. The event brought together six East Asian nations in each category — boys and girls.
The competition followed a round-robin format, where each team played five matches. The top three teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories earned their place in the finals.
On the final day, the boys’ team from Chinese Taipei produced a commanding 3-0 victory over China. In another exciting match, Korea edged past Hong Kong, China, in a closely fought contest, securing a 2-1 win. Macau comfortably overcame Mongolia with a 3-0 win.
In the girls’ event, China defeated Hong Kong, China, with a 3-0 score. Chinese Taipei battled past the host nation Korea in a tough 2-1 contest, while Mongolia triumphed in a thrilling 2-1 match against Macau.
Final Standings:
In the boys category Chinese Taipei emerged as unbeaten champions, securing five wins and standing tall on the top. China closely followed with four wins, securing the second position.
Host nation Korea finished third with three wins, while Hong Kong, China, and Macau secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively. Mongolia, unfortunately, found themselves at the bottom without a win.
In the girls’ category, China emerged champion with five wins, securing the top position. Chinese Taipei followed closely with four wins, claiming the second spot. Host nation Korea finished third with three wins. Hong Kong, China, and Mongolia secured the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, while Macau remained winless.
In the boys’ category, Chinese Taipei, China, and Korea secured their spots at the ATF 12&U Finals. For the girls, China, Chinese Taipei, and Korea earned their places in the finals.
