Hong Kong, China and Indonesia Qualify for Final Qualifying Event at World Junior Tennis Competition in Bahrain
Hong Kong, China emerged champions at the Asia Oceania Pre-Qualifying event for boys at the ITF World Junior Tennis Competition with a 2-0 win over Indonesia. Both the finalists secured their spots in the Final Qualifying event later this year.
In this year’s event — held in Bahrain from February 24 to March 1 — 21 nation’s competeded in the boys’ categoryy. Young tennis talents from across Asia and Oceania strove for qualification
After three days of intense round-robin matches, seven teams – Syria, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia — topped their respective groups to advance to the quarter finals.
Hong Kong-China, Indonesia, Syria, and Bangladesh then battled hard to reach the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, Indonesia displayed strong performance, dominating Syria with a 2-0 victory. Hong Kong-China also showed their strength by defeating Bangladesh by the same score.
In the championship match, Hong Kong, China delivered an impressive 2-0 performance against Indonesia to claim the title.
Bangladesh secured third place with a close 2-1 victory over Syria.
