Korea & Indonesia Emerge Victorious at ATF 12&U Team Competition Finals in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
The ATF 12&U Team Competition Finals, supported by KTF, came to an exciting end on September 21 as the best young tennis talents from across Asia showcased their skills in the week-long event held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
With 12 teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories competing fiercely, Indonesia and Korea emerged as champions, taking home the prestigious titles in their respective divisions.
The top three teams from both categories secured the coveted spots at the upcoming ATF 12&U Intercontinental Team Competition to be held in Hong Kong, China, from October 7-11.
In the boys’ category, Indonesia swept past India 3-0 in the semifinals, showcasing their depth. On the other side, Korea edged out Chinese Taipei 2-1 contest, setting the stage for the final.
In the championship showdown, Indonesia maintained their momentum and blanked Korea 3-0 to claim the boys’ title.
In the third-place playoff, Chinese Taipei rebounded from their semi-final loss and comfortably outplayed India 3-0.
In girls’ category the semi-finals were equally exciting, with Chinese Taipei beating host Kazakhstan 3-0 and Korea overpowering China 3-0. In the final, Korea proved their superiority by defeating Chinese Taipei 3-0.
Kazakhstan fought hard in the third-place playoff against China, emerging victorious with a 2-1 score line.
The top-3 teams in each category earned place at the ATF 12&U Intercontinental Team Competition.
The event, set to take place in Hong Kong, will see teams from Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania competing. The tournament will provide invaluable exposure.
