Pakistan and Indonesia Secure Berths in Junior Davis Cup Final Qualifying
Pakistan clinched a thrilling victory at the Asia Oceania Pre-Qualifying event for the Junior Davis Cup (JDC), overcoming Indonesia 2-1 in finals. With this win, both teams have secured their places in the Final Qualifying event scheduled for later this year.
The week-long tournament, hosted at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association from March 10-15, featured 22 nations from across Asia and Oceania battling it out on the hard courts.
Following three days of fiercely competitive round-robin matches, these teams advanced to the quarterfinals: Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Sri Lanka.
Indonesia displayed their strength in the semi-finals, defeating Sri Lanka 2-0, while Pakistan engaged in a nail-biting clash against Vietnam, emerging winner with a 2-1 score line.
Vietnam claimed the third spot with a narrow 2-1 triumph over Sri Lanka.
With both teams now setting their sights on the Final Qualifying event, the stage is set for an exciting showdown as they vie for a chance to compete in the Junior Davis Cup Finals.
